A Word from Our CEO
Welcome to MCMHA!
For over fifty years, Monroe Community Mental Health Authority (MCMHA) has served as the behavioral healthcare safety net for our community, providing care, treatment, and support to individuals living with mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Whether you or someone you love needs:
- Medications
- A paid caregiver to help with daily living skills
- Support from someone who understands addiction
- Mental health professional to speak to your business or organization
MCMHA is here to help!
In 2023, MCMHA was thrilled to learn that our application to become a demonstration site for Michigan’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) was approved. This new CCBHC status transforms behavioral health service delivery in our county!
In the past, we were funded primarily to treat Medicaid-eligible individuals with moderate to severe illnesses. CCBHC allows us to provide a range of services to any individual with a mental illness, regardless of insurance type, ability to pay, and/or severity of illness. CCBHC also allows us to operate a 24/7/365 Crisis Mobile Unit that responds to mental health emergencies anywhere in the county.
The journey to recovery is neither quick nor easy. MCMHA’s dedicated and compassionate staff are here to meet you where you are and support you as you pursue your life’s dreams.
