Michael Humphries

April 2020, appointed to the MCMHA Board

Why did I want to be on the MCMHA Board?

As a Registered Nurse for more than 30 years, I frequently have seen the effects of undertreated, ignored, and marginalized patients with mental health concerns. Moreover, as a Healthcare administrator in the private sector, I am very much aware of the challenges faced by our clientele in trying to find safe, appropriate, and useful care. I want to see our State direct necessary resources, effectively and efficiently, to ensure that those within our community needing the services this entity provides, actually receive, the appropriate care required to give them the best opportunity to lead an independent and as fulfilling life as possible. I am very proud of the expansion of our services that this agency has achieved over the last several years. If my time and healthcare experience can help this agency further those goals, then I feel this will have been time well spent.
